Top 10 Product Photographers in Australia (2026 Edition)

Looking for a Great Product Photographer for Your Next Photo Shoot?

The search for a new product photography partner can be overwhelming. There are tons on photographers, thousands of photos to look through, and different price advertised. In this article we look at the work of our colleagues in Australia and have prepared a list of top 10 product photographers there.

Interestingly enough many of the Australian product photographer websites we visited didn't even give a basic idea of pricing, so we included a couple of these.

This list does NOT have any affiliate links, we researched the topic because we wanted to see how much product photographers down under charge for their work in the field of ecommerce photography, and there wasn't a similar in depth list available.

Top 10 Product Photographers in Australia

1. Sydney Product Photography

amazon photography experts australia

top amazon photographer sydney
best ecommerce photographer australia

Pros: This is a photography studio in Sydney that offers product photography and styled photography services, and some 360 spins as well. This studio seems to focus on smaller items. The quality of the photos displayed on the website look pretty good. The rate per image is reasonable for basic products.

Cons: For product on white photos the turnaround is 10 business days, which is a little on the slow side. For styled photos, this studio relies mostly on color backgrounds and dramatic lighting. For anything other than a basic product, the price goes up pretty fast and styled images run at $160+/image before tax.

Verdict: If you are around Sydney and need some top quality photos of small items, this is definitely a great choice. For anything more complex, you would need a thicker budget.

2. Mrs. Penny

A great product photographer based in Melbourne is Mrs. Penny.

If you are looking for a creative photographer that will produce eye-catching images for your social media pages, Mrs. Penny's photography studio is a top pick.

Pros: Beautiful, immaculately styled product images that leave an impression. This studio seems to have experience in a variety of product categories, and the styling has a particular touch to it that is very soothing.

Cons: If you just need product on white photos, or need lifestyle photos that are not of this particular colorful pastel aesthetic, then this probably is not the best choice for your project. Pricing seems to be project based starting from AUD$925/project. There is no indication of how many images are delivered or what the delivery times are. The price includes a briefing over the phone.

Verdict: For instagram marketing photos with pastel aesthetic, this is a top choice.

3. Front Back Sides Photo Studio

This is a product photo studio based in Alexandria, NSW.

Pros: This is a clothing brand photography studio that has very clean and polished images in their portfolio. They seem to be very strong in on-model clothing photography, ghosted mannequin images, the still life images look great, and the drinks and beauty images are top notch. Pricing starts at AUD$20/image before tax, which is very reasonable.

Cons: For anything other than product on white photography the pricing becomes by the hour and the rate starts at $475/hour.

Verdict: Very good for clothing brand, beauty, and drinks product photos.

4. Nikita Photography Studios

This is a product photo studio that really stands our and is the personal favorite in this list.

Pros: The product photo examples available on the website are all very nice, great photography, styling, and retouch. The images are clean and well polished, without looking artificial. It is really useful that the product photography pricing is also clearly listed. Even if there is some difference in what your actual project will cost, it gives you some idea of what budget you need to have. We always prefer this approach, because there are thousands of photo studios and clients don't have time to contact everyone just to understanding the price-range, and in our work we also list pricing for that very reason.

Cons: Honestly, there aren't many cons that are identifiable from the website. If we really need to be picky, the sunglasses post-production could maybe be improved, but for clothing photography, handbags photography, shoes photography, and jewelry photography this studio is a top choice for sure.

5. Brisbane Product Photography

This is an amazon product photography studio based in Brisbane.

best amazon product photographer brisbane

Pros: This studio is the best budget product photography option in our list. The website clearly lists pricing and the prices are the lowest we came upon when looking at product photo prices in Australia. This studio does a decent job at taking photos on white of a variety of small items.

Cons: The only problem with this product photo studio in Brisbane is that the quality of the images is not top notch. The lighting could be improved and especially the styling of the clothing, doesn't look great, but for the price it is still a good deal. Also, the studio doesn't offer lifestyle photography, so if you need more variety for your images, you would need to hire a second photo studio for these.

Verdict. This is the best option for limited budget companies that only need product on white.

6. Rufus and Cooper

This is a high-end ecommerce photography studio based in Melbourne.

high-end product photography australia

Pros: This studio's work in clothing photography is excellent, whether you are looking for product images or on-model images, and it is no wonder that they advertise themselves as "Melbourne's premium fashion photographer". All images on the website look well-lit, well-styled, and retouched to perfection. The model images are carefully crafted with great attention to detail and don't look rushed at all.

Cons: The only con is that they don't make pricing public, so you would have to contact them to get an idea of pricing.

Verdict: This is a top choice for fashion photography, we expect the pricing to be on the high side.

7. eCommerce Images

eCommerce Images claims to be product photographer of the year in Australia (2021/2022), and commercial photographer of the year in Queensland (2019 & 2021).

product photographer of the year australia

Pros: This product photography studio produces really good quality images across different product categories from clothing photography, footwear photography, beauty product photography, food product photography, bags photography, furniture photography, electric appliances photography and more. So no matter what your product is, chances are that this studio can help you create good quality images for it.

Cons: This is another studio that doesn't publicize its prices, so if you want to know their product photography pricing, you have to reach out.

Verdict: Without pricing it is hard to judge whether this studio is a good deal or not.

8. Steinweiss Photography

This is a product photography studio based in New South Wales.

amazon product photographer australia

Pros: This amazon product photography studio in Australia produces top quality images for different types of products, including clothing photography, skincare photography, jewelry and watches photography, accessories photography, amazon infographics creation and more. The photography and retouch are all at a premium level. In addition to on white product photography, the studio also creates beautiful lifestyle images.

Cons: We wouldn't identify any cons by looking at the website and portfolio presented there.

The pricing starts at AUD$1299 + GST for 25 retouches images, and includes a product on white session and a lifestyle session. The price comes to about $50/image. For a package with graphic design the prices start at $1699+GST for 6 assets with graphic design.

Verdict: For those businesses that want high-end polished images and have a large budget, this is a great choice.

9. Adrian Harrison

This is a Sydney product photography studio brands itself a a studio delivering compelling, consistent & clear product photography for companies.

sydney ecommerce photography

Pros: This Sydney product photographer has different product categories on his website from furniture, to clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, food and more and promises to deliver product photos that will make your products stand out.

Cons: While pricing isn't listed on the website, it does say that product studio shoots start from $350, but it isn't clear what this fee includes. Also the portfolio on the website is very limited, there are just a couple of dozen photos in total, so you will have to contact the photographer to see more samples of his work.

Verdict: The quality looks decent, but from the website alone it isn't clear what budget you need to prepare to work with this product photography studio in Sydney, and whether the services cover your needs. Everything is a secret, so you need to spend time to request more portfolio and pricing, before you get any range at all.

10. Brand Eliza Photography

ecommerce product photography melbourne

This is an ecommerce product photography services based in Melbourne, Australia that prides itself in creating visuals that connect with your audience and elevate everything they touch.

Pros: The product photos look very nice and polished, this studio seems to go a lot of cosmetics product photography and baby product photography. The styled photos look very beautiful and well executed.

Cons: Photo shoot pricing starts at $2000, which is quite steep even for larger brands, so probably they only take big projects. It doesn't say whether they do any tests so you can get an idea of what you will get before committing to a full shoot, but you can get in touch to find out.

Summary.

Surprisingly biggest takeaway from researching this article was that Australia product photographers don't want you to know their prices. This, from our experience, means that they will try to charge you the largest amount possible by gauging how much you are willing to pay.

Before the ubiquity of ecommerce, this pricing strategy together with charging licensing fees was used by product photographers around the world, but we think it is outdated and unsustainable, given how many products are launched very day, how much cheaper it is now to create images, especially with the help of AI, and the amount of competition sellers face, we don't subscribe to these old school pricing strategies.

While product photos are key to launching and selling products, there is no single image that will have the same amount of impact that most published images had 20, 30 and especially 40 years ago.
