Exciting New Targeting Options for Amazon Sellers

in Marketing

If you haven't created a new campaign through your Amazon Seller account recently, you really should.

Just in time for Christmas, Amazon launched new very exciting targeting options that are definitely worth checking out.

To see them, simply start creating a new campaign, then select "Sponsored Products" as type.

In targeting, select "Manual Targeting"

The new options will appear under keyword targeting: "Product Targeting".

The first option allows you to target categories and sub-categories.

This is quite a development, as this new method allows you to target shoppers who are just browsing,

instead of only ones who have already decided what they want to buy.

Once you select the category you want to target, you can also click "Refine" and

select specific brand(s) you want to target, as well as star ratings, and price ranges.

The second option lets you target specific products. You can search for a product similar or compatible with whatever you are selling.

In the example below, we just typed a random product, and the system suggested items to target.

If you have acquired information through advertising reports you can target specific ASINs. Just list them and start targeting.

There is also an option to not include some brands in your campaigns.

Overall, this is quite a development, and brands can get creative in advertising alongside compatible products, as well as, of course, competitor products.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out and what effects this new targeting method will have on conversion rates.
